Our Mission
The Montessori Residency of Chicago’s mission is to recruit, train, and coach a diverse corps of teachers in underserved schools, primarily in urban areas. The training and coaching program is designed to leverage the Montessori approach’s strengths and offer a relevant, high-impact education in these communities. Our goal is to develop and retain high-quality teachers that push students to reach their greatest potential.

Our vision is to create a pipeline of diverse and highly-trained Montessorians equipped to educate underserved students and help them become leaders and changemakers in their communities.
